Celebrating 5 Years of Empowering Mission-Driven Organizations

I'm thrilled to be celebrating the 5-year anniversary of Chrysalis HR Consulting!

To my clients, colleagues, business partners, and supporters - this milestone is a testament to the incredible journey we've shared. During this time, I've had the privilege of working with inspiring mission-driven organizations, including small businesses, not-for-profits, educational institutions, and other social enterprises.

Chrysalis HR was founded on my belief in the transformative power inherent in every individual. In my ideal world, all people have the opportunity to grow to their full potential, working in organizations whose leaders are committed to creating a thriving, inclusive, and equitable future for everyone.

Individualization is a defining aspect of my services. My work with each client includes aspects of learning and growth based on what’s most valuable to them - from understanding human resources (HR) best practices and requirements to focusing on leadership skills, strengthening HR expertise, or preparing their organization for new opportunities.

Over the last 5 years, Chrysalis HR has journeyed with a variety of past and current clients to create and bring to life employee handbooks capturing those organizations’ specific cultures, visions, and values.

My clients understand that employee handbooks are about mutual expectations. Handbooks help employees understand what’s expected of them and let employees know what they can expect from their employer. As a result, employees understand the rationale and impact of expectations, and they become more engaged and aligned with the organization's goals. This fosters a stronger, more cohesive and equitable workplace.

I believe that creating and nurturing workplaces that are diverse, equitable, and inclusive is essential, not aspirational. Equity means providing fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all individuals, while actively working to identify and eliminate barriers that have historically impeded the full participation of certain groups. This process requires us to acknowledge, confront, and address historical and systemic inequalities, ensuring that personal or social circumstances - such as race, gender, identity, orientation, age, ability, spiritual/religious beliefs, or socio-economic status - do not obstruct anyone’s potential.

By specializing in policy development through an equity lens, I focus on promoting fairness and actively dismantling these barriers. My services extend beyond policy to cultivating workplace cultures where diversity is celebrated, and every individual feels genuinely valued and respected. Prioritizing equity isn’t just about compliance - it’s about creating an environment where all employees have the same opportunity to contribute, thrive, and succeed.

As I celebrate this significant milestone, I am more committed than ever to supporting mission-driven organizations in achieving their goals. To those of you who have been on this journey with me, I am deeply grateful.

I look forward to many more years of collaboration and success.
