About Chrysalis HR
I believe in the transformative power inherent in every individual. This philosophy underscores my approach to guiding others. I see beyond surface limitations, recognizing the vast reservoirs of talent and capability within each person.
Much like the metamorphosis of a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis, individuals can unleash their true potential and flourish — and I’m passionate about facilitating this journey of self-discovery and growth.
Reflecting on my career, I’ve been grateful for the mentors who saw potential in me that I hadn’t yet recognized within myself. Their belief in me propelled my growth and success. Now, I am committed to paying it forward by offering others the same transformative opportunities.
As an HR consultant, executive coach, and an SPHR-, CEC-, and MBTI-certified professional, I aspire to empower others to surpass their own expectations and unlock their boundless potential.
In my ideal world, all people have the opportunity to grow to their full potential, working in organizations whose leaders are committed to creating a thriving, inclusive, and equitable future for everyone.
My Values
-
I am committed to demonstrating the highest degree of integrity and professionalism, conforming to the Code of Ethics of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Code of Professional Ethics of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR). I'm certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) through the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI). Additionally, I am trained in the core competencies of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and follow their Code of Ethics.
-
I believe that everyone deserves to be treated fairly and with dignity and respect. Creating and nurturing workplaces that are diverse, equitable, and inclusive is essential, not aspirational. Equity means providing fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all individuals, while actively working to identify and dismantle the barriers that have historically impeded the full participation of certain groups. This process requires us to acknowledge, confront, and address historical and systemic inequalities, ensuring that personal or social circumstances -- such as race, gender, identity, orientation, age, ability, spiritual/religious beliefs, or socio-economic status -- do not obstruct anyone’s potential.

I deeply appreciate the vital work that nonprofit organizations provide in our communities. Throughout my career, my contributions to volunteer service include work with women’s shelters, heritage camps for adoptive families, Girl Scouts, and local, regional, and national HR professional organizations. Since moving to Asheville in 2013, I’ve served on the boards of Building Bridges of Asheville, Leadership Asheville, Hanger Hall School, WNC Diversity Engagement Coalition, and the Celebration Singers of Asheville. In addition to my volunteer work, I served as Interim Chief Human Resources Officer at Dogwood Health Trust in 2020-21.

Over the course of my career, I’ve found HR work exciting and rewarding. From the impact of nurturing someone’s potential and seeing them become more than they imagined to experiencing the synergy of a team that comes together for a shared purpose – it’s exciting to see possibilities become reality.
I understand the joys and challenges of working in mission-driven organizations: being strategic and hands-on, working with limited resources, and having a high sense of accountability to those you serve and represent.
My commitment drives my passion for helping organizations like yours to thrive and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Let’s combine my passion for HR and nurturing the potential in others with your passion and purpose so you and your organization can succeed.
